About the Role
This position focuses on the Patient Video Monitoring systems and is on-site. The System Administrator performs software installations, system upgrades, patch evaluations, and troubleshooting of software and performance-related issues. The role includes defining and performing routine system backups, recovery tasks, and maintaining system configurations to ensure data integrity, continuity, and availability. This position has no responsibility for providing direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Supports Microsoft Windows Server or UNIX environments.
- Analyzes system logs or events to identify potential server issues.
- Develops, documents, and performs tasks to incorporate new technologies into existing data center environments.
- Completes audits and reviews of systems, software, and network infrastructure.
- Performs data backups and migrations as needed.
- Applies operating system updates, patches, and configurations in coordination with senior team members.
- Assists in developing scripts to install and configure new hardware and software.
- Manages user account information, including adding, removing, or updating accounts and resetting passwords.
- Investigates technical queries and resolves user issues.
- Documents system configurations and processes in collaboration with senior team members.
- Triages and remediates reported problems.
- Collaborates with senior team members on system performance tuning and testing.
- Contributes to developing protocols to validate system infrastructure availability.
- Understands, follows, and implements appropriate change management controls.
- Deploys highly available technologies leveraging replication, load balancing, and geographic clustering.
- Installs and configures server hardware and operating systems in collaboration with senior team members.
- Participates in standard monitoring requirements and scripting or applying additional settings.
- Triages and troubleshoots hardware and system-level problems.
- Participates in the architecture and design of system configurations from system architects.
- Follows established implementation standards and guidelines in collaboration with senior team members.
- Documents implementation and installation guidelines in collaboration with senior team members.
- Understands and adheres to security policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Detail-oriented, process-focused, with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of and adherence to change control processes in a large production environment.
- Ability to triage and troubleshoot hardware and system-level problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Experience in systems administration.
Working Conditions
This is a sedentary position that may exert up to 10 pounds and may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects. The role primarily involves sitting and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
