Systems Administrator

Role: Systems Administrator supporting mission-critical operations at MacDill AFB. Responsibilities Install, operate, and maintain physical and virtual systems, including VMware ESXi, Horizon, vCenter, and vSphere.Design and execute system backups, disaster recovery, and optimize system performance.Manage enterprise storage solutions like Nutanix and Dell platforms.Support virtual desktop infrastructure, build/deploy virtual desktop images, and support zero client technology.Apply patches, updates, and custom fixes, ensuring cybersecurity compliance and accreditation.Maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and support system security.Monitor performance and support surge operations in austere environments. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or Master’s with 2+ years of relevant experience.Active Secret clearance and DoD IAT Level I or higher, Security+ or Network+ certification.Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, hypervisors, VDI, Nutanix AOS, and supporting Windows Server environments.Knowledge of VMware Horizon View, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.Ability to travel internationally and work in drug-free environments. Preferred: VMware and Nutanix certifications, 4+ years of systems training, and crisis response capability.
