About the role
The Systems Administrator is part of the global Information Technology team, reporting to the IT Regional Manager of Infrastructure. The role involves managing and tuning in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security for supported business applications. This individual also participates in planning and implementing policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance align with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
- Install and configure software, hardware, and networks.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Recommend new approaches to improve the organization’s network and computer systems.
- Assist in the planning, design, creation, development, testing, implementation, and modification of computer programs related to various machine operating systems, including desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
- Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
- Monitor and maintain the use of the company's photocopiers and printers.
- Help maintain the IT functionality of Manufacturing CNC machines/devices within the manufacturing plan.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for all server backups.
- Monitor, plan, and coordinate the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
- Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and work with various vendors for procurement.
- Perform onsite and remote technical support.
- Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
- Maintain excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.
- Create and maintain good technical documentation.
- Provide emergency on-call support as needed.
- Provide backup support to the IT Manager when requested.
- Project a positive company image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude and comply with the company dress code.
- Communicate with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Document assigned tasks as required.
- Perform work according to supervisor’s directives.

- Clean work area daily.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience with Windows Server platforms, with an emphasis on Active Directory (experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher).
- Experience in LAN/WAN operations with solid knowledge of configurations, including Cisco routers and switches, Internet firewalls, and wireless technology.
- Ensure all changes are documented and follow Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) change management processes as defined by Corporate IT Standard Operating Procedures.
- Strong background in Outlook and Exchange messaging systems.
- Advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Virtualization experience in VMware or Hyper-V.
- Basic Windows scripting skills preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and theories of network systems and management.
- Experience with data management.
- Ability to identify and resolve a wide range of technical computer-related issues.
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Able to read, understand, and apply complex technical information.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and vendors.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with little supervision and good time management skills.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
