About the role
Acute inpatient and outpatient care is a key component of Canada's continuum of health services. This fast-paced career involves providing active and necessary treatment and care to allow patients to be discharged as soon as they are healthy and stable. Responsibilities include emergency room services, intensive care, urgent care, and other hospital settings. No two days on the job are the same.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in acute care
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare teams
- Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and results
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Dedication to maintaining a high standard of patient safety and quality of care
