System Safety Engineer

Job Title: System Safety EngineerJob Description The System Safety Engineer will support the Engineering and Product Development team to ensure products are safe and meet all mission performance, environmental, and customer requirements. This role involves leading System Safety across multiple concurrent programs, setting strategy, and resolving technical conflicts. Additional responsibilities include architecting System Safety program plans aligned with applicable standards and influencing system architecture and design trades from concept through deployment to drive Design for Safety outcomes. Essential Skills 12+ years of experience as a System Safety Engineer or in a similar role.Experience with safety-critical hardware and software systems in defense sectors such as weapon systems, aircraft, UAS, maritime, space, or rotorcraft.Knowledge of relevant safety standards, including the specified safety standard.Proficiency in safety analysis techniques such as FTA, FHA, SCFTA, and FMECA.US Citizenship. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree.Experience in hardware and software development within the defense industry.Familiarity with military and ISO standards. Work Environment The position involves working with a team of 15-20 Safety System Engineers across 3-4 locations. The environment fosters collaboration and offers the opportunity to lead System Safety efforts across multiple engineering teams and programs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Costa Mesa, CA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $92.00 - $122.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
