System Analyst 3

Location: Lansing, MI – local candidates only (must reside within 1 hour of Lansing by submission). Hybrid schedule: on-site Tuesday/Wednesday (8 hours/day, no exceptions) plus first month on-site 5 days/week for onboarding.

About the role

This 1-year contract position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy reliance on Azure DevOps. The System Analyst 3 gathers, documents, and tests clear business requirements, communicates needs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and serves as ScrumMaster (using Azure DevOps) while coordinating with the PMO’s Project Manager for project artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
• Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
• Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
• Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
• Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Azure DevOps experience (or similar tool like JIRA) – must be comfortable creating epics/features/user stories and moving cards through the project lifecycle (required).
• 3+ years of experience with as-is/to-be processes and content creation.
• 3+ years of experience using BA/QA tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio).
• Experience must be within the last 5 years.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a QA.
• 3+ years of Business Analyst experience.
• 3+ years of Quality Assurance Analyst experience.
• 3+ years of understanding BA, QA, DEV roles/responsibilities.
• 3+ years of experience creating product roadmaps.
• 3+ years of familiarity with Project Management Methodologies/Agile.
