System Administrator, Jr

About the role

Client Solution Architects (CSA) is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support a program onsite at Pearl Harbor, HI. CSA delivers technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain service levels of system availability and uptime as defined in the Performance Standards.
• Manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
• Perform daily checks for servers per established DoN, NAVSEA, Shipyard and local SOPs/desk guides.
• Develop, generate, maintain, and contribute to documentation (e.g., procedures, instructions) that pertain to and are applicable to managed systems.
• Maintain compliant, secure systems for each network through the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of server systems.
• Protect Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) and other Confidential Data as stated in OPNAV Instruction N9210.3 series.
• Implement and comply with vulnerability management tasks such as patches, STIGs, monitor and evaluate ACAS reports, TASKORDS.
• Maintain server compliance to PHNSY&IMF, and higher level, configuration requirements.

Requirements

• Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Education: Must posses a high school diploma.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required, or willingness to obtain Security+ within the first year of employment.
• 0–2 years of experience with system administration or related IT operations to include: Windows Server administration, System performance monitoring and tuning, User and account management, Cybersecurity and system security practices, Backup and recovery, Troubleshooting hardware/software/operating system/network issues, Software updates, security patches, and configuration management, Basic automation and scripting, Technical documentation and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science.
• Experience using ServiceNow or another IT service management/ticketing system.
• Active Directory account management.
• Powershell or other scripting/automation experience.
• Server monitoring and performance analysis.
• Backup and recovery technologies.
• Vulnerability management and remediation.
• STIG implementation and compliance.
• Security patch management.
• ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
• Experience working in a government, DoD, or regulated IT environment.

Physical Requirements

• Sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer workstation.
• Use hands and fingers to operate keyboards, mice, and other input devices.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Stand, walk, bend, or reach; Access equipment located in data centers, offices, or under desks.
• Lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
