System Administrator II HPC Prime Contract (Utah)

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and advance Linux and Unix operating systems
• Installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity of and configures network components
• Implements operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems and storage
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client storage/network devices
• Demonstrate superior communication, contribute to team efficiency, and work towards solutions
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
• Technical storage experience
• Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
• Proven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree
• DoD 8570 IAT II level certification
