System Administrator HPC Prime Contract (Maryland)
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and advance Linux and Unix operating systems
- Installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity of and configures network components
- Implements operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Supports implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems and storage
- Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Supports IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client storage/network devices
- Demonstrates superior communication, contributes to team efficiency, and works towards solutions
- Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, performs system capacity analysis and planning
Qualifications
- Experience with Linux OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
- Technical storage experience
- Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
- Proven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree
- DoD 8570 IAT II level certification
