About the role
Under general supervision by a senior Systems Administrator or other unit manager, installs, configures, and troubleshoots computer systems and associated assemblies and provides help desk technical assistance and training to system users.
Work Environment
- 24/7/365 kinetic mission set
- 12-hour shifts on site (40 hours per week)
- Shifts rotate between days and nights
- Mission-essential position
- Must report to duty in all weather conditions
- Ability to remain overnight as required
Responsibilities
- Assists with basic configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis of desktops, servers, networks, and video systems
- Participates in the installation and administration of local systems using multiple protocols and various computer systems/tools
- Writes detailed technical problem reports, assists with root cause analysis, and recommends configuration and process changes
- Installs, upgrades, and administers operating systems and application software in multi-user client/server environments using Windows 11 Enterprise
- Provides technical support by responding to IT help desk issues
- Performs other related duties and tasks as directed
Requirements
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility or the ability to obtain TS/SCI (U.S. citizenship required)
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification (must possess and maintain)
- Trained in information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II
- 2–4 years of information technology and Windows OS experience in the field
- Demonstrated system or network administration skills, knowledge, and technical competence in managing workstations, information systems, and networks (hardware and software)
- Understanding of network topology, standards, and protocols
- Hands-on experience administering Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016/2019
- Professional understanding and use of Microsoft Office Professional suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Current state-issued driver’s license (must possess and maintain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related discipline, augmented by ongoing academic/technical training and certification programs specific to the work unit’s hardware/software tools
Pay
$86,000 – $90,000
