About the role
TRISTAR is seeking a skilled System Administrator II to join our team and support the Tactical Air Control Party-Modernization (TACP-M) program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, integration, and sustainment of advanced defense systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide systems integration support, including software installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of Tactical Transportable Gateway (TTG), Maneuver Gateway (MG), Deployable Communications Packages (DCP), and related tactical communication systems.
- Support the development, engineering, integration, and validation of Mission Computers, tactical radios, Full Motion Video (FMV) receivers, thermal imaging systems, targeting devices, and other mission-critical equipment.
- Develop technical documentation and provide hands-on instruction to warfighters, delivering operational guidance and training to ensure the effective use and sustainment of mission systems in field environments.
Requirements
- Experience with Windows and Linux administration, TAK Server administration, Mobile Device Management (MDM), analog and digital communications, Docker, and L3Harris Falcon II and Falcon III tactical radio systems.
- Experience with IT operations, troubleshooting, customer service, and Microsoft Windows environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Red Hat Linux administration.
- Able and willing to travel to government and contractor facilities as needed.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification prior to the start date.
