About the role
Supports the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems. Provides tiered support for IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices.
Responsibilities
- Supports the day-to-day operations of IT systems
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems at Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels
- Communicates status updates to agency management and internal customers
- Manages the dispatch system and hardware issues, remaining involved in the resolution process
- Configures and manages UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems
- Installs, loads, troubleshoots, maintains, and configures network components
- Implements operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Performs account management, including establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts
- Provides configuration management and sustainment of compliance with applicable system security controls
- Performs periodic vulnerability scans and implements IAVA security patches
- Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning
- Provides detailed analysis and feedback on escalated tickets
- Communicates and coordinates with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Owner (ISO) regarding system changes
- Completes required milestones of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) as directed and coordinates completion status with the ISSO
- Ensures IT assets remain compliant with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy
- Applies knowledge and understanding of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling)
Requirements
- Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
- Ten (10) years' experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
- Requires DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification and Computing Environment (CE) Certification (Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications are acceptable)
- Four (4) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM) is required
- If assigned to Desktop & Enclave Services TTOs, understanding of mission islands, Trusted Thin Client, and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling) is required
