About the role
The System Administrator supports the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. They manage IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems, providing support for day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices.
Responsibilities
- Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of issues.
- Communicates status updates to agency management and internal customers regarding escalated problems.
- Supports the dispatch system and handles hardware-related issues, remaining involved in their resolution.
- Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing and loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining system integrity, and configuring network components.
- Implements operating systems enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
- Supports the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
- Analyzes and resolves complex problems related to server hardware, applications, and software integration.
Requirements
- Extremely proficient in Linux
- Understands and implements all aspects of STE
- Coordinates and reacts to SSP requirements and responds to CVEs
Mandatory Skills
- Fifteen years' experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level I or higher

- Supports implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Manages daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Provides assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
- Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, performs system capacity analysis and planning
- Provides detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Possesses a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of SOA
- Analyzes and resolves complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration
