System Administrator 2
About the role
Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 2 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems across enterprise environments. This role emphasizes mission operations sustainment, including advanced troubleshooting, system monitoring, and maintaining reliable performance across Linux-based infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems
- Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
- Manage day-to-day system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and updates
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu)
- Support OS installation, file systems, TCP/IP networking, and software lifecycle activities
- Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues across mission environments
- Utilize automation and configuration management tools (Salt, Ansible)
- Maintain monitoring systems using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk
- Collaborate using Jira, Confluence, Git, and Slurm for workload and system management
- Support performance optimization and capacity planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
- Strong experience with Linux system administration, networking, and troubleshooting
- Experience with monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Ansible, Bash)

Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $119,068 per year.
