About The Role
The Switchboard Operator/Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth communication within the company. This position serves as the first point of contact for some clients and visitors, creating a welcoming environment while efficiently managing incoming calls and inquiries. The operator will be responsible for directing calls to the appropriate departments and providing accurate information to clients, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the effectiveness of the Switchboard Operator/Receptionist directly impacts the company's reputation and client relationships.
Minimum Qualifications (Requirements)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Self-Starter, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, including telephone skills with the ability to use proper phone etiquette.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to providing high quality service.
- Able to follow written and verbal direction.
- Must have at least beginner's typing abilities.
- Can easily adapt to changes in work requirements.
Responsibilities
- Accurate transferring of calls to the appropriate individual/department.
- Greeting individuals in The Health Plan lobby in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Maintain workplace security by issuing, checking, and collecting visitor badges as necessary and maintaining the visitor log.
- Projecting a professional appearance and speaking voice.
