Switchboard Operator
About the role
The Switchboard Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring prompt, courteous, and effective communication for Park Nicollet Health Services. This position involves routing calls to appropriate departments, providing patient information, paging on-call physicians, handling emergency codes, and offering general assistance.
Responsibilities
- Routinely handle incoming calls and direct them to the correct departments or individuals.
- Provide accurate patient information and assist with pagers and code processing.
- Respond to emergency alerts and alarms to initiate proper responses.
- Offer general assistance to colleagues, patients, visitors, and members.
- Effectively prioritize and manage a variety of routine and emergency calls.
- Possess strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to handle complex situations.
- Work collaboratively with the switchboard team to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of client-facing customer service experience.
- Highly skilled in multitasking, detail-oriented, and able to maintain emotional composure during emergencies.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education preferred.
- Call center or switchboard experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry.
- Eagerness to take on projects and challenges.

FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, 8am-4:30pm, every other weekend.
