About the role

Axiom Bank seeks a seasoned professional to lead the Healthcare Vertical. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial credit, deposit, and fee income business development, as well as proven leadership experience in middle-market and corporate banking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize the Healthcare Vertical’s strategy with respect to target industry segments and go-to-market approach.
  • Plan, establish, and develop an effective sales strategy and manage the overall performance of the Vertical to include profitable revenue growth, effective risk management and compliance strategies, and a strong customer satisfaction orientation.
  • Recruit and retain talented banking professionals.
  • Establish and ensure implementation of high-quality customer service.
  • Establish long-term relationships with the bank's staff, clients, and business partners.
  • Support the design and implementation of industry-relevant products and services to better position the Bank.
  • Develop profitable new business, both credit and non-credit, through cultivation of prospects, calling on referral sources, deepening existing client relationships, and networking with centers of influence.
  • Appropriately structure complex credits and possess strong transaction execution skills.
  • Present credit requests to the appropriate individual or committee for approval.
  • Ensure that customer relationships are managed in a safe, sound, and sustainable manner.
  • Proactively identify deteriorating credit situations and effectively communicate the status and resolution to internal stakeholders and client.
  • Monitor, on an ongoing basis, information concerning the Vertical’s loan and deposit portfolios and team performance.
  • Develop, scale, and manage the Healthcare Vertical team as warranted by market conditions and the Bank’s strategy.
  • Represent the Bank in the Healthcare community and participate in various industry affairs and Bank-designated projects to promote the Bank’s brand and further develop new business opportunities.
  • Supervise Relationship Managers and related support functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of direct experience in middle-market and/or corporate banking, preferably focused on one or more market segments within the healthcare industry, including: Commercial credit, deposit, and fee income business development.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Deep banking background, including understanding credit, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong sales management expertise to drive profitable revenue growth from current and prospective clients.
  • Leadership experience developing and executing a strategic plan; including developing and implementing policies, procedures, budgets, and programs that fulfill the mission.
  • A demonstrated track record of success at mentoring and motivating staff to peak performance, and managing diverse teams to accomplish a wide range of business objectives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial loan and treasury cash management products.
  • Strong credit underwriting and administration skills.
  • Knowledge of one or more targeted industry segments.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiating, sales, and sales management ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with strong business acumen.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
