About the role
The SVP of Business Development, Liquidity will lead sales strategy and execution for the Institutional Liquidity division in the U.S. western region. This is an opportunity for a dynamic candidate with a proven record of delivering results in the institutional liquidity market.
Responsibilities
- Represent Franklin Templeton’s liquidity and short-term investment capabilities to a broad range of institutional investors including corporate treasurers, alternatives, pension funds and state and local governments.
- Elevate the firm’s presence in the western U.S. region across top industry forums, associations, and conferences.
- Deliver the firm’s full range of short-term investment solutions to Franklin Templeton’s institutional and retail clients in the region.
- Collaborate with the Digital Assets Distribution team to identify and develop opportunities for Franklin Templeton’s market-leading suite of tokenized Money Market Funds.
- Partner across Franklin Templeton distribution channels e.g. institutional and wealth, to identify and support cross-selling opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with institutional liquidity investors including corporate treasurers, insurance companies, state and local governments, hedge funds and other institutional investors.
- Support and develop the Liquidity business’ intermediary relationships in the western region, including banks, MMF portals and other distribution platforms.
- Cultivate relationships with industry associations including Regional AFP chapters, consultants, and service partners.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for institutional liquidity solutions.
- Support growth in liquidity and short duration offerings.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Build and manage a high-quality revenue pipeline.
- Partner with product and investment teams on client-aligned solutions.
- Support accurate and timely data for the Firm’s CRM, business reporting and expense management processes.
- Support cross-sales of the firm’s short-term capabilities across Franklin distribution channels, including Digital Assets.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of strong institutional sales experience with corporate finance stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in institutional liquidity management, with experience gained in an asset management, banking, or related financial services environment.
- Demonstrated track record of originating, positioning, and closing complex financial solutions for sophisticated institutional clients.
- Established senior-level relationships and market credibility across global treasury, liquidity, and institutional cash management markets.
- Executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, and public-speaking skills, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
- Proactive, energetic, and highly client-focused.
- Ability to operate with autonomy, sound judgment, and urgency in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Professional qualification, such as CFA or MBA preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
