About the role
Hai Hospitality (Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba) is seeking enthusiastic Sushi Chefs to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our culinary and service team, Sushi Chefs will enhance the dining experience for our guests while gaining valuable career opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Acquaint yourself with our menu, specials, and Japanese cuisine.
- Learn and perfect sushi techniques under the guidance of skilled Chef teams.
- Understand proper handling and waste reduction of products.
- Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and create an amazing experience.
- Collaborate with teams to develop dishes for our specials page and core menu.

Basic Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests and other employees.
- Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives.
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces.
