About the role

As the Survey Project Manager, you will direct activities and manage staff on assigned projects from proposal through final deliverables. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring project scope, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, fostering client relationships, and coordinating with project team members. You will also oversee survey activities to ensure performance goals are met and provide detailed instruction to survey support personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Keep up with current technology and changes to the programs being used.
  • Perform calculations for field crews and mapping as needed.
  • Compile and research projects prior to starting work.
  • Analyze deeds and research materials for survey production.
  • Ensure all projects stay on schedule and within budget; discuss issues with Supervisor as needed.
  • Manage office personnel assigned to your projects.
  • Coordinate with the field crew supervisor to meet project needs and ensure desired field product.
  • Prioritize projects and schedules for yourself and staff.
  • Coordinate QA/QC scheduling.
  • Monitor each project to ensure client satisfaction and full scope completion.
  • Review timesheets of assigned staff daily for your projects.
  • Coordinate and assist with project estimates as requested.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK, including Civil 3D or equivalent transportation surveying project management experience.
  • Familiarity with FDOT Location & Surveys processes and standards.
  • Subsurface Utility Engineering experience a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history.
  • Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or (PLS) in the State of Florida is required.
