Survey Project Manager II
Type: Direct Hire – Onsite position located in Benbrook, TX or Tyler, TX
About the role
The Project Manager II plans, directs, manages, and provides oversight of assigned design and survey projects to ensure Company goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. This position leads teams to deliver project(s) spanning one or more business units, managing resources, schedules, financials, and quality throughout the full development life cycle. Responsibilities include managing issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time delivery, as well as contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement, including planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
- Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature project delivery capabilities for the organization.
- Provide on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, responsibilities, and milestones.
- Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases.
- Manage multiple related projects to ensure alignment with and support of strategic objectives.
- Develop and deliver status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership.
- Assist in dispute resolution, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, and dependencies, and participate in quality issue resolution.
- Ensure projects and programs proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program teams.
- Continue professional development to stay current with emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.
- Manage and maintain existing and newly assigned customer relationships.
- Perform required business processes in Workflow.
- Actively engage in business development initiatives and local industry events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven Project Manager experience, with Director’s recommendation.
- A combination of experience, education, licensures, or certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional) may substitute for tenure at the discretion of the CEO/COO.
- Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
- Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills, including the ability to lead across multiple business and technology organizations.
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
- Experience successfully leading projects and programs on time, on schedule, and within budget.
- Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending budget changes.
- Technical proficiency with software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
- Experience leading, motivating, and managing project teams of varying sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding teams accountable for performance.
- Team-building skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Flexibility with a proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- RPLS or PLS licensure.
- Associates degree or some college.
Pay
Base salary range: $90,000 – $130,000 per year. Compensation decisions depend on skills and experience levels.
