Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate projects with multiple team members.
- Consult with clients.
- Strengthen the vision of Virginia survey operations by partnering with our leadership team to provide direction and guidance to the Gainesville/Richmond survey office.
- Collaborate proactively and productively with other groups and offices across the Mid-Atlantic operating unit.
- Oversee survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or direct preparation of all types of survey plans.
- Train field staff in land surveying procedures.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets & deliverables.
- Prepare proposals and contracts.
- Prepare Easement plast, Study Maps, Boundary Surveys, and ALTAs.
- Prepare route studies, perform courthouse research and deed analysis.
- CAD oversight and quality assurance.
- Perform survey computations, data collection, and cut sheet generation.
Requirements
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Virginia or ability to obtain Virginia PLS within six months.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in all aspects of land surveying, including project management experience.
- An AAS or BS Degree in Surveying is preferred.
- LSIT required.
- A successful track record of building client relationships in the surveying and related mapping industry.
- Effective team building skills.
- Experience with transportation and utility infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Experienced in all aspects of Land Surveying (Land Development a plus).
- Perform Boundary Surveys & ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys & As-built plans.
- Data reduction and processing of field files, topographic surveys, etc.
- Knowledge of Trimble Business Center (GPS processing) and AutoCAD Civil 3D software a plus.
- Ability to work out of town if required, flexible with work area.
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicle.
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening.

Pay
The projected range for this position is $92,000-$125,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
