Duties/Responsibilities
- Aid in the collection of field data using total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels, and data collectors.
- Set up and dismantle surveying instruments and equipment at job sites.
- Take clear and precise field notes, including sketches and descriptions of field conditions.
- Participate in measurements and stakeout activities for boundaries, topographic surveys, utilities, and construction projects.
- Maintain proper care, calibration, and organization of survey tools and equipment.
- Transport field materials and supplies between job sites.
- Operate tools like sledgehammers, shovels, machetes, and chainsaws safely.
- Adhere to company and industry safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with the survey crew chief and other field personnel to ensure efficient task completion.
- Operate in various terrains and weather conditions for extended periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience operating surveying equipment and using TOPCON Magnet software preferred.
- Skills in field surveying and data collection are preferred.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
- Ability to work out of town and adapt to different schedules, including night shifts or third shifts.
- Detail-oriented, quality-conscious, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Relevant certification or technical training in surveying technology and equipment is a plus.
