Duties/Responsibilities
- Aid in field data collection using total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels, and data collectors.
- Set up and dismantle surveying instruments and equipment at job sites.
- Take clear and precise field notes, including sketches and descriptions of field conditions.
- Assist with measurements and stakeout activities for boundaries, topographic surveys, utilities, and construction projects.
- Ensure proper care, calibration, and organization of survey tools and equipment.
- Load and unload field vehicles with necessary materials and supplies.
- Operate tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, machetes, and chainsaws.
- Adhere to company and industry safety practices and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with the survey crew chief and other field personnel to complete assignments efficiently.
- Work in varied terrain and weather conditions for extended periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience operating surveying equipment and using TOPCON Magnet software.
- Skills in field surveying and data collection.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
- Ability to work out of town and adapt to different schedules, including nighttime or third shift work.
- Detail-oriented, quality-conscious, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
