Survey Crew Chief II

About the Role

Lead a two- or three-person surveyor field crew to accurately and efficiently perform field surveys in support of land development, transportation, utility, energy, and land surveying projects using conventional, GPS, or terrestrial laser scanning methodology.

Responsibilities

• Perform topographic surveys, ODOT, ALTA and boundary surveys, and construction staking.
• Adhere to Halff and client safety standards at all times while performing field duties.
• Arrive to work earlier than usual start time, beginning at 7am, Monday through Friday.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
• Travel up to 50% per month to various project sites.
• Maintain high level of dependability, discipline, and responsibility to represent Halff positively.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Crew Chief performing topographic surveys, ODOT, ALTA and boundary surveys, or construction staking.
• Hands-on experience with Trimble GPS and/or conventional equipment (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Ability to grasp new learning material and comply with specific instructions.
• Proficiency in modern communication and smart portable devices.
• Ability to pass a drug and background screen.

Physical Requirements

• Excellent physical condition to perform field work outdoors in various conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and wind.
• Ability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
