About the role
Sentara is hiring a Surgical Technologist Student Extern at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. This position supports surgical services staff and the department manager in the role of first scrub tech or second assistant, working under the direct supervision of a preceptor or surgeon. Candidates must be enrolled in the 3rd or 4th semester of a 4-semester program in an accredited school of surgical technology awarding an associate degree.
Requirements
- Enrolled in the final 3rd or 4th semester of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (associate degree required)
- No prior experience required; surgical or operating room experience preferred

About the facility
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility and the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads.
