Surgical Technologist- Orthopedics

Novant Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the full-time day shift at our New Hanover Orthopedic Hospital location in Wilmington, NC.

Schedule

• Full-time, 1.0 FTE
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures
• Ensure the operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly
• Possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique
• Combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist)
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C) preferred
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification required for South Carolina region only

Additional Skills

• For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or lack certification:
  • New graduates must obtain certification within 12 months of hire
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing
• Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills
