About the role
The Surgical Technologist performs as a member of surgical team providing technical patient care and hands-on expertise in the handling of surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency cases.
Responsibilities
- Assembles and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies for all specialties using surgeon preference cards as a reference.
- Sets up and maintains sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon’s intra-operative needs.
- Functions as 2nd assistant during surgical procedure.
- Understands and maintains current knowledge and practice of hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved one-year or two-year surgical technologist program.
- Knowledgeable in aseptic technique, scrub skills, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
- Knowledgeable in purpose of correct medications and solutions used on the surgical field.
- 6 months of previous surgical tech experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist.

Pay
Compensation: $28.32/hr, based upon experience. Hours Per Week: 24 hrs. per week on average.
Schedule
Shift: 0500, 0700, 0930, 1000, 1500 start times. Weekend/weeknight/holiday call rotation.
