Surgical Technologist - Operating Room - CST

About the role

The Surgical Technologist provides safe, efficient perioperative care under RN supervision, primarily functioning in the scrub role. They are responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies, utilizing sterile and aseptic techniques, and adapting to unpredictable situations in the surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by ensuring proper instrumentation and supplies are available.
• Apply knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA required within one year of hire.
• Ability to work in unpredictable perioperative situations and collaborate effectively with the surgical team.
• Candidates must have or obtain the necessary certifications and maintain compliance with licensing standards.

Pay

Compensation ranges from $32.43 to $48.66 per hour.

Schedule

This is a full-time, nonexempt position with varied hours, potential call responsibilities, and travel between sites.
