Surgical Technologist - CST
Department: Operating Room – Chelsea
About the Role
Utilizes the principles and practices of surgical asepsis in the preparation of surgical instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field, and passing instruments to surgeons within the sterile field. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and the anatomy and physiology of the human body.
More than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually in gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical instruments and supplies using surgical asepsis principles.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Pass instruments to surgeons within the sterile field.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by understanding surgical procedures and human anatomy.
Requirements
- Graduation from a certified surgical technologist program.
- Surgical Technologist Certification required within six months of employment.
- On-call requirements.

Schedule
- Part-time, benefit-eligible position.
- 48 hours per pay period (every two weeks).
