Surgical Technologist - Day/Evening Shift

About the role

Surgical Technologist responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring aseptic techniques, verifying surgical site, maintaining supplies, and managing specimens.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and surgical procedures across all ages.
• Coordinate treatments with multidisciplinary teams and participate in surgical briefings.
• Prepare operating rooms, connect clinical equipment, and maintain sterile fields.
• Verify surgical site, count supplies, and handle specimens accurately.
• Dispose of sharps and linens properly, assess wounds, and change sterile dressings.
• Follow universal precautions, initiate emergency protocols, and participate in patient admission/discharge.
• Perform billing, on-call duties, and act as a preceptor for students.
• Ensure compliance with policies, perform quality control, and handle specimen collection and patient transport.
• Conduct quality monitoring, assist with post-mortem care, and ensure medication labeling under supervision.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible per state law.
• Graduate from a specialty training program.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a team, follow policies, and adapt to a clinical environment.
