Surgical Technologist - Day/Evening Shift

About the role

Provides surgical assistance by preparing and assisting during procedures across all age groups. Offers patient support, ensures aseptic techniques, and maintains surgical equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during surgeries, coordinate treatments, and provide basic patient care.
• Prepare patients and the operating room, ensuring sterile conditions and correct surgical site identification.
• Manage surgical supplies, including counting and verifying specimens.
• Dispose of sharps and linens safely, monitor wound care, and change sterile dressings.
• Initiate emergency procedures, participate in patient admission/discharge, and perform billing activities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and act as a preceptor for students.
• Follow policies, perform quality control, and undertake additional tasks like specimen collection and patient transport.

Qualifications

Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible under applicable state law.

Skills

• Graduate of a Specialty Training Program.
