Responsibilities

• Affords assistance during delivery or operation/procedure by arranging, inventorying, and maintaining sterile setup as required for the procedure.
• Passes items as needed.
• Assists in the preparation of labor and delivery/surgical suite, including moving patients.
• Participates in the cleaning process.

Specifications

• Experience:

• Minimum Required: Surgical Technologist graduate from an accredited school.
• Preferred/Desired: National certification as a surgical technician.
• Preferred/Desired: Completion of 20 hours of continuing education annually.

• Education:

• Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technologists.

• Skills:

• Clear and effective communication in writing, oral, and verbal formats.
• Legible handwriting and accurate record-keeping.

• Licenses:

• BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
• CPR Certification.
• Current national certification through an appropriate/approved accreditation body or five (5) years of previous cardiovascular surgery experience.
