Surgical Technologist

About the role

Assists in the delivery of patient care by transferring equipment/instrumentation during procedures to physicians. Performs a variety of duties related to the preparation, processing and arrangement of surgical instruments and supplies under the direction of a professional registered nurse appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special nursing procedures as delegated by the professional registered nurse.
• Secures, sets up and prepares the Operating Room equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Arranges instruments, tables, stands and other articles in specified order.
• Adjusts equipment appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Provide and assists in meeting the patient's care needs appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Organizes time to complete assignments according to specifically assigned responsibilities.
• Properly prepares instrumentation following completion of procedures for transport to Central Sterile for reprocessing.
