Surgical Technologist

In this role, you will play a critical part in the operating room, supporting surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, maintaining precision, and delivering exceptional patient care. Schedule

• Shift: 8-hour or 10-hour days (7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 7:00 AM–5:00 PM)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• On-call: Required 8 to 12 days per month

Responsibilities

• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-procedure
• Support patient positioning and surgical site preparation (draping)
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and OR team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures

Requirements

• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years' experience (surgical setting preferred)
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (e.g., General, Ortho, Urology, and GYN)
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
• Two to three years of experience working in an operating room setting or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) upon hire and maintain current
• Must be proficient in the following specialties within 6 months:
  • General
  • Gynecology
  • Urology
  • Vascular
  • ENT/Plastics
• Must be proficient in one of the following specialties within 6 months:
  • Major Vascular
  • Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery

Proficiency is defined as the ability to perform cases in that specialty independently.
