- Robotics for general surgery, urological, and gynecology needs
- Hernia repairs
- Gallbladder and appendix surgeries
- Bowel resections
- Port placement and removals
- Total joint replacements
- Arthroscopy surgery
- Treatment of fractures
- Urological treatment for stones
- Gynecological surgery (hysteroscopies, ablations)
- Pain therapy
- EGDs and colonoscopies
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation
- Control bleeding through suctioning, clamping, and cauterization
- Handle and manipulate tissues during surgery
- Hold retractors and maintain clear visualization of the surgical field
- Apply dressings and support postoperative care in the OR
- Maintain sterile technique and support infection prevention protocols
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist)
- Previous Surgical Technologist experience (preferred)
- Current Surgical Tech Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C) (preferred)
For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or lack certification, the following applies: new graduates must obtain certification within 12 months of hire. Ability to complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing is required. Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills are essential.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Option 1: 4 ten-hour shifts per week
- Option 2: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
- 2-3 call shifts per month, including 1 twenty-four-hour weekend call shift
