Surgical Tech - First Assist, Operating Room, Full-Time

About the Role

Provides technical support during surgical procedures as a vital member of the operating room team.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with hemostasis, tissue exposure, and wound closure using various techniques.
• Prepare and drape patients, ensuring proper positioning and safety.
• Manipulate tissues, perform dissection, and remove human tissue as needed.
• Close incisions with sutures or staples, applying appropriate wound dressings.
• Administer medications as directed and maintain knowledge of relevant pharmacology.
• Mentor, train, and support team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements

• Completion of a surgical technology or accredited surgical assistant program.
• Certification as a CST, TS-C, CSFA, or CSA; ongoing continuing education required.
• Active certifications in surgical technology and assistance.

Skills

• Ability to manipulate tissues, assist with procedures, and maintain sterile technique.
