Surgical Services Scheduler (Per Diem)

Shift: Per diem, first shift as needed

About the role

Supports the needs of the Surgical Services Department by coordinating and maintaining an efficient and cost-effective surgical schedule. The Surgical Services Scheduler assists with coordinating requested equipment, supplies, and services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain an efficient and cost-effective surgical schedule
• Assist with coordinating requested equipment, supplies, and services
• Use medical terminology, including CPT codes and ICD codes
• Communicate effectively with departments, employees, physicians, and managers
• Handle multiple priorities in a stressful environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in a hospital or medical-related field with use of computers and data entry functions
• Fluent in English
• Working knowledge of Windows-based software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
• Accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience in a hospital or medical-related field with advanced computer and data entry knowledge
