Surgical Scheduler - Urology
About the role
The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures, including pre and postoperative visits under the direction of the provider. Responsibilities include obtaining accurate procedure, demographic, and insurance information, and working with multiple physician practices and hospital departments.
Responsibilities
- Obtain authorization for surgeries, medications, radiology and PET scans
- Provide pre-anesthesia updates to PAS staff
- FM/LA, Jury duty notes
- Book all medical/cardiac clearance appointments
- Book all post-op appointments
- Show strong organization, communication, and multitasking skills
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma required. 2-5 years healthcare office experience. Medical terminology preferred. Prior surgical scheduling experience highly preferred.
- Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
- Preferred Skills: Education - Associates Degree preferred
