Description

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to join the Orthopedics team in Waterbury. The Surgical Scheduler will schedule surgical procedures, manage pre and postoperative visits, and coordinate surgeries according to provider templates.

What You Will Do

  • Maintains proper provider schedules and coordinates surgeries efficiently
  • Accounts for obtaining pre-surgical testing, arrangements, and reporting to pre-admission testing with HospitalWorks in a timely manner
  • Completes pre-authorizations and prior approvals from third-party payers for radiology and surgical procedures
  • Accurately captures patient information including demographic, diagnosis, procedure, insurance, and physician details in the electronic medical records system (EPIC)
  • Collaborates on exchanges of information between physicians within the group, external groups, and Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center regarding surgical cases
  • Reviews discharge instructions with patients and ensures proper follow-up appointments are scheduled at the time of procedure scheduling

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years Healthcare office experience
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Prior surgical scheduling experience highly preferred
