Schedule

  • Full time
  • Day shift

Location: 2360 Meadows Blvd, Castle Rock, Colorado 80109

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patients for surgery and completes facility paperwork.
  • Obtains necessary scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events with minimal call transfers or callbacks.
  • Schedules surgeries with physicians and physician office staff using the method designated by the facility.
  • Calls designated departments with information for add-on cases if patients are not yet admitted to the hospital and prepares and sends reservations for each case scheduled within established timeframes.
  • Responds to multiple inquiries from telephone, intercom, and direct communication regarding scheduling of surgery and the main operating room suite.
  • Prepares the advance surgical schedule, scrutinizes tentative schedules, and contacts Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Admissions, surgeons, etc., reviewing other information that affects administration of the schedule.
  • Maintains hospital schedules through various methods such as calls, faxes, etc.
  • Assists with orientation of staff members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Consistently maintains and improves skills such as telephone etiquette, typing accuracy/speed, and communications.

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
  • 3+ years in a healthcare setting [Required]
  • 1+ year of technical experience [Preferred]
  • 1+ Electronic Health Record (EHR) scheduling experience [Preferred]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

Skills

  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
  • Ability to document accurately and concisely [Required]

Pay

Pay Range: $19.77 - $31.64 per hour
