About the role

Deliver excellent patient-centered care by ensuring the financial and surgical communication process is complete for patients having surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgery and performs pre-surgery patient education regarding preparation for surgery and communicates with all associated facilities.
• Schedules and coordinates pre-op appointments with the patient and/or the patient’s caregiver.
• Checks every patient chart for insurance benefits, prepares a cost summary, and counsels patients regarding finances.
• Counsels patients for Physician Fee and Eye Surgery Center.
• Follows up/collects for surgery payments for ECA and ESC.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in financial counseling is preferred.
• Must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States.
