Surgical Clinical Coordinator - Prentice OR, Full-time, Rotating

About the role

The Surgical Clinical Coordinator at Northwestern Medicine's Prentice OR is responsible for facilitating unit operations, coordinating staffing, and providing direct patient care under the supervision of the Surgical Services leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations on a shift basis according to policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements
• Captivates new initiatives and helps in unit/departmental or hospital wide committees/task forces
• Communicates directly with patients and significant others about nursing care
• Directs patient care provided by staff nurses and support personnel for a specific shift
• Assures safety and security of patients, significant others, and staff
• Provides direct patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Specialty certification in the clinical area of focus (preferred)
• Additional clinical experience in another clinical area (preferred)
