About the role
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, Department of Surgery is recruiting for a Surgical Oncologist, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
Responsibilities
- Develop an active clinical surgical oncology practice
- Conduct clinical research
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Teach medical students, surgical residents and fellows
- Participate in national meetings related to Surgical Oncology
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Minimum 3 years experience as an academic attending surgeon
- Board Certified in General Surgical Oncology or completed an SSO Accredited Surgical Oncology fellowship and Board Certified in General Surgery
- Eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license
- Malpractice coverage and ability to obtain admitting privileges at applicable hospitals and/or clinics
Qualifications
- Expertise in Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery
Skills
- Practical interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative abilities
- Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching and clinical trial research
- Ability to participate in national meetings related to Surgical Oncology
