About the role

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, is seeking to recruit a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level with a focus on breast reconstruction and reconstructive microsurgery.

Responsibilities

  • Patient care with reconstructive needs in both inpatient and outpatient care settings
  • Clinical and/or basic science research
  • Take a plastic surgery call

Requirements

This position requires an MD or DO from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and completion of ACGME accredited residency program. Candidates must be board certified or in the process of obtaining board certification in Plastic Surgery. Completion of a microsurgery or reconstructive microsurgery fellowship is required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited college or university
  • ACGME accredited residency program completed
  • Board certified or in the process of obtaining board certification in Plastic Surgery
  • Completion of a microsurgery or reconstructive microsurgery fellowship
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance
  • Educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency, research and scholarly activity will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank

Skills

Specialized training and interest in breast reconstruction, reconstructive microsurgery, and Gender Affirmation Surgery, as well as expertise across the full spectrum of plastic surgery, including complex reconstruction of the trunk, head and neck, and upper and lower extremities.
