Surgery Scheduler - General and Vascular Surgery

BayCare Clinic's mission is to provide measurably superior specialty medical services to our patients. BayCare Clinic General and Vascular Surgery is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our team in Green Bay, WI.

Responsibilities

• Verifies availability of date, time, and anesthesia for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Accurately obtains scheduling information including procedure, type of anesthesia, length of stay, and patient demographics.
• Promptly schedules surgical procedures while observing block times.
• Communicates with hospital staff regarding scheduling and pre-admission testing.
• Accurately records cancellations and reasons in computer.
• Answers phone calls in a timely and courteous manner and properly disposes of the calls.
• Notifies appropriate staff of supply/forms shortages.
• Respects and maintains confidentiality.
• Works in a safe, compliant and ethical manner at all times.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a health care field preferred, but not required.
• Clinical experience, MA/ LPN or previous surgical scheduling experience is strongly preferred.
• 6-months to 1-year related experience/training or equivalent of education/experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Working knowledge of computers and appropriate software.
