Surgery Scheduler

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Routinely books surgical cases for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients for the OR and the G.I. Lab.
• Coordinates and confirms the acquisition of services, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries.
• Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on-call list to appropriate departments or personnel.
• Checks, enters, and reconciles the daily patient charges.
• Prepares and distributes the monthly surgical statistics.
• Updates the Surgery Schedules and completes the required Log Book.
• Answers phones and appropriately communicates messages.
• Assists OR Director and Charge Nurse with additional clerical duties.
• Works with coworkers, other departments, and outside companies to assist with the provision of safe, efficient, and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical care setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong clerical and computer skills.
• Command of the English language.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in the OR preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $16.44 to $23.81 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
