Surgery Coordinator - Orthopedics

About the Role

Provides administrative support to surgeons by scheduling patient surgeries and performing other administrative tasks that support our patients. Returns calls in a timely manner and ensures that each encounter provides an over-the-top experience. Independently completes tasks, but also works closely with their care team in the clinic setting. Secures necessary patient information relating to the scheduling and/or processing of surgical procedures. Schedules surgeries and performs required procedures including documentation. Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations. Coordinates information provided for business services functions including CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient surgeries and perform related administrative tasks
• Return calls promptly to ensure excellent patient experience
• Secure and manage necessary patient information for surgical procedures
• Perform documentation and comply with state and federal regulations
• Coordinate CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding for business services functions

Requirements

• 2 or more years of related experience in a health care environment
• Medical terminology and CPT-4 coding knowledge required
• Proficiency in operating typewriter/word processor, CRT, printer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, and 10-key calculator

Preferred Qualifications

• Detail-oriented individual with strong human relation and organizational skills

Schedule

Monday–Friday, hours vary between 7:30 AM–5:00 PM.
