About the role

Inova Fairfax Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join the team. This is a full‑time position with varied day shifts, and a sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and can anticipate the required instrumentation for each step of a surgical procedure.
• Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.
• Performs in a preceptor role for new & experienced staff in the scrub role.
• Provides working knowledge of powered instrumentation, video equipment, microscopes, and complex instrumentation/equipment.
• Assists in the evaluation of new products and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Two (2) years Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of Virginia.
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS‑C) via NCCT; Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 1 trauma experience.
• Surgical Technologist experience in orthopedics, trauma, neuro, robotics, or vascular specialties.
