Surg Tech III - OR

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines, maintains surgical specialties, and serves as a resource. Involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgery in the OR for multiple specialties.
• Perform technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Function as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.
• Assume additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary.
• Serve as a resource for the surgery department.
• Participate in detailed surgical endeavors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of experience and Surgical Tech Certification required.
• In lieu of degree, 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience.

Qualifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support certification upon hire required.
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure (Current GA LPN License, if applicable) upon hire required.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist certification upon hire required.
